Chogolisa (Bride Peak)

Chogolisa, also known as Bride Peak, is a stunning mountain at the end of the Baltoro Glacier near Concordia. It is known for its spectacular snow dome and its elegance — hence the nickname “Bride Peak.”
The mountain has several summits; the highest is 7,665 meters. Chogolisa is historically significant as mountaineer Hermann Buhl fell to his death here in 1957 during an attempt.
First ascent: In 1975, by a Japanese expedition led by Takeo Kuwabara.
Climbing info: Climbs typically begin from Concordia. The southeast ridge is considered the most accessible route, though snow conditions and avalanches make it very challenging.
Suggested Itinerary
- Day 1: Skardu to Askole
- Day 2-4: Trek to Concordia via Baltoro Glacier
- Day 5-6: Acclimatization and move to base camp
- Day 7–15: Climb via southeast ridge
- Day 16-20: Return trek to Askole and drive to Skardu
