Golden Peak Trek (Spantik)
Best Time: May to October
Tour Overview
Spantik Peak (7,027 meters), also known as the Golden Peak, is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Karakoram Range. Located between Nagar Valley and Baltistan, it forms a natural boundary between these regions.
The peak is known by several local names, including “Ghenish Chhish” in Brushaski, meaning “Golden Mountain.” At sunset, the golden glow on its towering face creates a breathtaking spectacle, especially when viewed from Hunza.
From the Baltistan side via the Chogolungma Glacier, the mountain appears less intimidating and offers a classic trekking route to its base camp. The panorama from the region includes Rakaposhi, Diran, Ultar peaks, Haramosh, the Batura group, and even distant views of K2.
