Spantik (7027m) Expedition

Highlights: Spantik Peak, also known as Golden Peak, is one of the most beautiful and accessible 7,000-meter mountains in the Karakoram. The region is comparatively greener than most parts of Baltistan, offering lush valleys, flower-filled meadows, and stunning alpine scenery.

During this expedition, climbers are rewarded with magnificent views of Haramosh Peak (7409m), Malubiting Peak (7458m), and the iconic Laila Peak (6986m). Spantik is considered an ideal introduction to high-altitude mountaineering above 7000 meters.

Day to Day Program

Day 01 – Arrival in Islamabad

Arrival at Islamabad Airport, transfer to hotel and official briefing at Ministry of Tourism. Sightseeing includes Faisal Mosque, Daman-e-Koh and Parliament area.

Day 02 – Drive to Chilas

Drive along the Karakoram Highway beside the Indus River (11–12 hours). Overnight in hotel.

Day 03 – Drive to Skardu

Continue to Skardu (7–8 hours). Overnight in hotel.

Day 04 – Free Day in Skardu

Rest, acclimatization and preparation for the expedition.

Day 05 – Drive to Arandu (2770m)

Drive to Arandu village, the gateway to Spantik region. Overnight in camp.

Day 06 – Trek to Chogo Brangsa (3322m)

4–5 hours trek through scenic valleys. Overnight in camp.

Day 07 – Trek to Bolocho (3800m)

5–6 hours trek with first clear views of Spantik Peak. Overnight in camp.

Day 08 – Trek to Spantik Base Camp (4300m)

Reach base camp and prepare for climbing activities.

Day 09 – Day 29: Climbing Period

Climbing rotations, acclimatization, fixing ropes, and summit attempt. This period allows flexibility depending on weather conditions.

Day 30 – Return to Chogo Brangsa

Descend from base camp. 6–7 hours trek.

Day 31 – Trek to Arandu & Drive to Skardu

Return trek followed by drive to Skardu. Overnight in hotel.

Day 32 – Drive to Chilas

Return journey via Karakoram Highway.

Day 33 – Return to Islamabad & Debriefing

Official debriefing at Ministry of Tourism and sightseeing.

Day 34 – Departure

Transfer to airport for onward flight.
